It is with great sadness that the family of Melinda Frances Savory, 82, of Northwest announce her passing on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater
Melinda worked for many years at Harbour View Haven in Lunenburg, where she made many friends throughout the years, especially Michelle Stoodley and Peggy Croft. She loved to garden and was quite creative in her planter designs. She also loved to talk with family, just not during her Wednesday night Bingo game.
Melinda is survived by her daughters; Marie(Peter Cook)Reid, Rose Bay, Joan Savory, Tanner Settlement, Wanda (Bobby) Swinimer, Halifax, Margie (Ricky Meisner) Savory, Chester Basin, Cindy Savory, Lunenburg; sisters, Jane (Jim) Wamboldt, Back Centre, Emily (Jim) Childs, Ottawa, Cathy Childs, Kentville; brothers, Cecil Jr, Newburne, Charlie (Mimi), Shelburne, Watson (Judy), Mahone Bay, Clyde (Valerie), Fauxburg; grandsons, Peter (Stephanie), Dartmouth, Kirk (Jessica), Parkdale, as well as many more grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of fifty years, Watson; daughters, Selena, Patty; great-grandchildren, Harley and Hendrix; sister, Margaret MacLean; brother, Frank and son-in-law, Gary Nowe.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg and from where a memorial service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Simon Davies officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations made to the I.W.K. Foundation or St. John’s Anglican Church, Luenenburg would be appreciated by the family.
