Obituary of Marty Bast
Martin “Marty” James Bast was born on June 27, 1950 in Macklin, Saskatchewan to Zacchaus and Anastasia Bast.
On September 12, 2022, Marty passed away suddenly in Nakusp, British Columbia, with his wife by his side. He was 72 years old.
Marty will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Rose; his children, Michael †, Justin (Sheila), James (Lisa), and Jody; grandchildren, Ashten (Madison), Andersen (Brenna), Taylor, Jonathan, Hayden, Sadie, Aurora, and Teagan; his soon to be great grandson that is on the way; sisters, Loreen (Con) Smith, Clare (Bob) Kress, Delores (Don) Deck, Bernie (Tim) Stang, and Theresa (Pius) Schachtel; sisters and brothers in law, Cecilia (Lorne) Garrett, Tony (Carolyn) Stang, and Rob (Tracy) Stang; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his son, Michael, in 1970; parents, Zacchaus & Anastasia Bast; parents in law, Ben & Katie Stang; brothers, Leo (Mary) Bast and Peter (Shirley) Bast; brother in law, Arnie Stang; sister in law, Julie Buelon.
A funeral service for Marty will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Macklin, Saskatchewan with Father Binue Rathappillil SAC officiating. A private family interment will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in Macklin, Saskatchewan.
Memorial donations are gratefully being accepted to the Macklin Wildlife Federation and to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan.
