It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of their father, grandfather, great-grandfather and husband, who passed peacefully at his home in Chelmsford, Ontario, October 17, 2022 at the age of 91 years. Marcel was the son of Polydor and Hosanna Gratton of Chelmsford (both predeceased). Marcel will be sadly missed by his loving and devoted wife, Jacqueline Gratton (née Patrick) and his six children, Denis (Karen), Nancy (late Reginald), Peter (Alice), David (Jo-anne), Jane (Guy) and Andrew. Fondly remembered by his 10 grandchildren, Kelly, Angela, Clint, Joshua, Stephan, Daniel, Destiny, Jeffrey, Zakary and Faith, and also Marcel’s 13 great-grandchildren. Marcel in his earlier years, was a prominent businessman in the Chelmsford area, owner of a General Construction and Paving company and in later years expanded the business with a successful sod farm. Marcel was a faithful servant of the Lord and was extremely active in the Full Gospel (Sudbury Chapter) for many years as the President and member of this organization. Marcel also cherished, his happy memories of spending time at the cottage, during the summer months on Windy Lake, Onaping, fishing, boating and sharing a great bbq with family and friends. The family will receive relative and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 4691 R.R. 15, Chelmsford, on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Followed by a chapel service at 4:00 p.m. Donations in his memory can be made to a charity of your choice. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
