Obituary
On April 29th our father Lou Daechsel left us to rejoin our mother Joyce, to be together again for eternity. Lou was born in Gull Lake Sask., growing up in Strasburg and Lanigan, to parents Carl and Elizabeth, siblings Doug, Justin, Elaine, Irvin, and Donald, all who are predeceased. Lou is survived by children, Tim (Patty), Brenda (Dan), Barb, and Pati (Dave), seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Newlyweds Lou and Joyce moved to Penticton in 1957 and stayed for a lifetime. Together they started and operated several businesses, including, Lou’s Texaco, Rosetown Auto Wrecking, Acme Septic Service, Bona Vista Farms along with building several houses. Dad’s hard work and good fortunate allowed an early retirement in his mid 40’s. That gave him plenty of time to spend summers tend to his many woodworking projects, a small cherry orchard on the Westbench and spending winters travelling touring and camping the U.S. in their RV, with the Good Sam Group. Dad passed peacefully surrounded by family and boundless love at Penticton Regional Hospital and the family would like to thank nurses and doctors for Dad’s excellent end of life care. A celebration of life is planned for later this summer.
