Obituary of June Elizabeth Hank
June Elizabeth (Downey) Hank passed away peacefully on December 18, 2022, at York Care Center, Fredericton, NB, at the age of 87. June was born on August 26, 1935, in Amherst, NS, and was the youngest daughter of the late Lloyd J. Downey and Beatrice A. (Amon) Downey.
June is survived by her sons Daniel J. Hank (Candace) of Geary, NB, and Raymond C. Hank (Min Zahang), of Windlaw, BC; daughters Kitca J. Carr (Gary) of Geary, NB, and Wanda J. Abel (Dennis) of Sechelt, BC; grandchildren Justin Hank, Natasha Veltchev (Stoyan), Duska Frink (Scott), Rachelle McKee, Kelly Routh; great grandchildren, Londyn Frink, Ryker Frink, Avery Abel, Ellie Routh, and Jase Routh; sister Elieen English of Red Deer, AB, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother Reginald Downey; sisters, Margaret Zinns, Dorothy Goodwin; granddaughter Ragan Abel, as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and cousins.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at York Care Center (Birch Grove & Tower 1) for their care and kindness given towards our mother.
There will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at the Geary Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with Rev. Robert Weaver officiating. Internment will take place in the summer at the Oromocto Pioneer Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in June’s name may be made to the Geary Baptist Church.
