It is with profound sadness and much love that the family of Julia Jackson announces her passing on November 28, 2022 at the age of 67 years.
Julia will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 39 years, Brian Jackson, and will be dearly missed by family and friends near and far. She was predeceased by her parents, William Brian Edwards and Betty Edwards.
Julia was an only child, born in Southport, England. The family came to Victoria, B.C. when Julia was very young. They moved back to England for a short time until the passing of her grandfather, then they moved back to Canada and ultimately settled in Edmonton.
She had a love of animals since she was a small child, and throughout her life she was surrounded by dogs, cats, and horses. She was involved in equestrian riding in the teenage years. If she couldn’t ride, then her preferred sport was skiing. She had an artistic side that was showcased throughout her life with her woodworking, pottery, and painting.
Julia was married in 1983 in Edmonton and moved to the acreage in 1986 with her husband Brian until her passing.
She had a great love of travel, first with her family, and then with her friends during her single life, and lastly with her husband Brian. She had travelled within Canada, many of the Western US States, and the favorite of Hawaii. Julia also ventured to Mexico, Jamaica, and Costa Rica.
Julia went through some health issues the last few years and received an amazing gift of a live liver transplant. This gave us a few more precious years with her and we are forever grateful for the selfless generosity of her donor.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home (10011 114 Street NW, Edmonton)
