Obituary
In loving memory of Jocelyne Adrienne Marie Ovens (née Bossé) who peacefully passed away on September 3rd, 2022 at the age of 71, under the gentle care of the staff at the Maison McCulloch Hospice. Beloved wife of Peter for over 50 years. Loving mother of Celeste (Jamie) and Michael (Sheldon). Cherished Mémère to Jacob and Mya. Dear sister to Gaye (Ed), and Susan. Caring matante to Eddie (Sarah), Renée (Eddie), Avis (Ron), Dana and Jessie (Alain). Devoted daughter of Guillaume and Adrienne, predeceased. Dear niece to many matantes and oncles. Missed by so many special cousins and friends, as well as her many fur babies, including Finn, Mr. Beans, and Shadow (recently deceased.) Jocelyne started her career as a Registered Nursing assistant on the 26th of November 1971. She began working at the General Hospital in the pediatric ward and just adored working with the babies. In 1974, she took a pause from nursing to start her own family. When she returned, she worked as a PSW in various long-term care facilities around the Sudbury area. For several years, she loved working at Sole Mates Footwear in the Valley, where she spent half of her salary on purses and shoes for her family and friends. Jocelyne had two legendary green thumbs. She loved to spend time in her gardens at home and at camp. She was also a talented artist. She enjoyed painting, drawing, paper tole, knitting, making her grandchildren’s Halloween costumes and many other artistic pursuits. She was a kind and loyal friend to many and always put her family first. Jocelyne loved to boogie. She never missed an opportunity to dance with anyone who was near her if a favourite song came on the radio, tap her feet or move those disco fingers. As per Jocelyne’s wishes, we will celebrate her life with family and friends in the near future. Donations can be made to the London Health Sciences Foundation c/o Multi-Organ Transplant Program.
