Obituary of Joan Wright
Joan passed away at home, with family by her side in her 90th year, on Saturday, December 24, 2022. Joan was the wife of the late Raymond Wright and late Ken Collver. Dear mother of Rod (Liz), Kim (Kime), David, Terry (Connie), and Jon. She will be missed by her boys, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Joan worked for the original Dominion Store, then A & P and Metro. She worked her way from part-time cashier to head cashier and made many lasting friendships. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends, quilting with her quilting group, gardening and reading.
The family would like to extend its appreciation and gratitude to so many health care professionals who cared for Joan over the last 2 ½ years. Special thanks to Aimee LaBrash from the North East LHIN who provided support, guidance, direction and empathy to Joan and the family. Also many thanks to Amy (PSW) who through her kindness and care made life easier for Joan and Marlo (PT) who always made Joan laugh. Joan enjoyed their visits.
Friends will be received on Friday, December 30th, 2022 at the Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road, Sault Ste. Marie) from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions made to Sault Area Hospital or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated by the family.
