Jim Alemany

We are sad to announce that Jim Alemany of Waterloo passed away with family by his side at Waterloo
Hospice October 12 th 2022, after a short but fierce battle with cancer.
Jim is survived by his wife of 32 years, Beth and their 3 adult children Alex, Samantha & Sarah, parents
Jennifer & John McLean of Petrolia, Brian (Suzanne) Alemany of Elliot Lake, mother in-law Sylvia (the
late Paul) Renshaw of Elora, siblings Jodie, Dylan & Amanda (Scott), sister & brother in-laws Jennifer &
Gerry Henderson, (the late Grant Renshaw), as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and
cousins.
Jim was a Proud Wilfrid Laurier University Alumnus ’90 & ’91 and was passionate about both his work
and contributing to an enviable workplace culture at Descartes Systems over the past 20 years. An avid
soccer fan, Jim played, coached and was well-known for enjoying a game with family & friends.
Cremation has taken place. Jim will be placed to rest at Parkview Cemetery Waterloo, near the soccer
pitches where he played and coached for several years. Details are to be announced regarding a
celebration of life.

teams at Grand River Hospital, Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, Hospice Waterloo, Paramed, Care
Partners, Hope Springs and New Canadian Medical Transfer, for their kindness, care and support.
