Obituary of Janette Aukema
AUKEMA: Janette Alice (Huls),
A resident of Wheatley, Janette Aukema passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on August 26, 2022 at the age of 60.
Born in Chatham, Ontario, Janette Aukema was the daughter of Albert (deceased) and Agnes (Vander Stelt) Huls.
Loving mother of three children; Rashelle Aukema, Samantha (Mark) MacKew and Kevin (Alyssa) Aukema. Dear Oma to her granddaughter, Amelia Alice Aukema and devoted sister to Charlie Huls and Albertina (Louis) Praamsma.
Janette, in her free time, was an avid gardener, enjoyed walking along the beach with her dog Cooper and loved to crochet items for her family. She was an Accountant for many years and enjoyed her work at Erie View Acres in Kingsville, ON.
The family has entrusted McKinlay Funeral Home in Chatham with the arrangements. A service is scheduled for September 2, 2022 beginning at 11:00 a.m with a Celebration of Life reception to follow from 12:00 p.m until 2:00 p.m at 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, Ontario.
Donations can be made in memory of Janette to the Chatham Hospice or the Windsor Dr. Y. Emara Palliative Care Centre, where she received exceptional care.
