It is with a heavy heart and great sadness we announce the passing of Janet Elizabeth
Saunders (Balls) on December 21, 2022. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her
loving family and friends.
Born on December 9, 1955, she was the loving wife of Paul Saunders. Cherished mother to
Jamie Hoff (Steve) and Brad Saunders. Grandmother to Jordyn Elgie (Cody), Lauren Hoff, Léa
and Maya Saunders. Dear sister of Faye Reinhart, Bruce Weames (Irene) and Kathy Lauzé
(Bob). Sister-in-law to Michael Saunders (Bonnie), Peter, Alan, Joe (Lynda), and Jane
Greenway. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her father Emmanuel (Shorty) Balls, her mother Ruth Holloway, father and mother-in-law Lorne and Gertrude Saunders, and brother-in-law Jeffrey Saunders and George Reinhart.
Janet was a very devoted wife and mother. She loved spending time with her four precious
granddaughters. She has been the friendly face and voice behind the counter of Famme &
Company Chartered Professional Accountants since January 3, 1989. She loved her Famme
family and clients so much. We often joked that she was probably the only person that missed
working during busy season. Over the last year Janet was so overwhelmed by the love and
kindness shown by so many. The texts, phone calls, visits, flowers, food and cards helped to
keep her spirits up. She often said she felt like a celebrity with all of the affection given.
At this time we would like to thank London Regional Cancer Clinic, Chemotherapy Unit at SGH
and CarePartners including Joanne, Amy and Wanda and all of the nursing staff that came into
the home. Also, a thank you to Sinclair Pharmacy for keeping on top of all of the medications.
Family, friends and coworkers are invited to the celebration of life at the Army Navy & Air Force
Veterans at 151 Lorne Ave. E., Stratford ON, on Saturday, January 28/23 from 1-4. All
