Helena Chafe
November 5, 1961 – July 24, 2022
Leaving us with plenty of wonderful memories, we sadly announce that Helena Chafe (nee Fitzgerald) passed away peacefully, after a short battle with cancer, with her family by her side on July 24, 2022, age 60. Helena was a quiet, kind hearted woman who loved her family. She is predeceased by her father Brendan Fitzgerald, uncle Jim Traverse, grandmother Ellen Traverse, father-in-law John Chafe and her sister-in-law Diane Kieley.
Left to mourn is her treasured family, her devoted husband of 43 years Terry, her two daughters Samantha (Dean MacIsaac) and Stacey (Matthew Coates), her adorable grandchildren Clark, Ewan and Liam who were her pride and joy, loving mother Betty Fitzgerald, mother-in-law Irene Chafe, sisters Trudy (Charlie), Michelle, Annette (Chris), Colleen (Cec), brothers Wally (Daphne), Brendan (Michaeline). Also left to mourn, members of the Chafe family Bill (Janet), Perry (Maureen), Larry (Karen), and brother in law Donny Kieley. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A heartfelt thank you to Community Health RN Kelly Ralph, and the Palliative Care nurses for going above and beyond, your kindness will never be forgotten. Also special thank you to Chris Dailey at IDG for his continued support.
Resting at Cauls Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation hours are Wednesday, July 27th, 2022, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral service will take place from Caul’s Chapel on Thursday, July 28th at 1 p.m.
