It is with great sadness that the family of Walt Hubick, beloved husband of Gertha, and father of Diane (Blair Corbin) and Arlene (Kenny Mosquito), wishes to share the news of his peaceful passing, at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton, on December 12, 2022, at the age of 95 years young.
Walt is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Katie Hubick; his nine brothers and sisters, George, Lena, Bill, Baby Elizabeth, Minnie, Mary, Emma, Martin, and Ed, who were waiting to welcome him when he entered Heaven’s door.
He will be greatly missed by his six beloved grandchildren: Jason (Bre), Hope (Scott), Jeremy, Andrea (Maciek), Christian (Dana), and Jocelyn; twelve beloved great-grandchildren: Malcolm, Phoenix, Brennan, Lukas, Ash (Mila), Tucker, Cia, Bohdi, Killian, and Cadence; as well as many beloved nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, family, friends, and colleagues from near and far.
His Funeral will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 9907-114th Street NW Edmonton, Alberta, at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, with Pastor Neil Stern officiating. Everyone is invited to stay for lunch, followed by internment at Westlawn Cemetery, and a “Celebration of Life” at 590 Wolf Willow Rd., afterwards. Walt always loved our family celebrations and so please join us in sharing love, laughter, favorite memories, and fun times as we celebrate the day away, the way Walt always loved!
In lieu of flowers, it would make Walt happy knowing that his family and friends are supporting the charities he worked so hard to promote: Lutheran Association of Missionaries and Pilots (LAMP), Good Samaritan Society, and Canadian Lutheran World Relief, as he will always be known for his love, his caring, and his commitment to faith, family, friends, hard work, and helping others. He began this hard work at the tender age of eight years, sharing his meagre earnings with his mother, and working a variety of jobs that culminated in the career he loved the most: helping young families prepare for the inevitable, as an accredited award-winning life insurance agent with Imperial Life. His life is definitely a life that was well-lived, and he will always be well-loved by those he knew, loved and supported, through thick and through thin, forever and for always, until we meet again in the beautiful life that follows.
