Obituary for
Frieda Marie Engebretson
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Frieda Marie Engebretson, surrounded by her loved ones, on September 4, 2022, at the age of 80 years.
Frieda was born in 1942, in Highvale, AB to Edward and Augusta Wendt. Frieda leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 62 years, Gary Alvin; children, Bonnie (Rob) Nagy and Ronald (Donna); six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and many more dear relatives and friends.
Frieda was known as a kind, warm-hearted, and welcoming person and she became a bonus grandma and aunt to so many! Her family and friends will miss her witty, zany, and sometimes dark sense of humour. Frieda was always up for a visit and had snacks at the ready. She was known to be the life of every party, ever so often accompanied by her favourite Grand Marnier.
Thank you to the doctors and staff of the Whitecourt Healthcare Centre and Home Care for their wonderful care and compassion. You are each special people who went above and beyond in your support for Frieda and her family.
Respecting Frieda’s wishes, no ceremony will be held. Instead, Frieda would be pleased to know she is not mourned, but rather, celebrated for living what she believed, living life to the fullest.
In lieu of other tributes, donations would be welcome to the Friends of Whitecourt Society, Box 1101, Whitecourt, AB T7S 1P1.
