Obituary of Evelyn Gracey
Gracey, Evelyn of Aylmer passed away at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Thursday, December 1, 2022 in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of Gordon Gracey. Dear mother of Dan Gracey(Torina) and Peter Gracey. Also survived by 2 grandchildren, a great-grandson and a number of nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her sister Barbara McPhee and brother John E. White(June). Predeceased by her brother Ron White and sister Beatrice Pineo. Born in Copenhagen on October 21, 1930, daughter of the late John A. and Kathleen (Strath) White. Evelyn and Gord lived at Erindale, Mississauga but also had a home and small nursery west of Aylmer. In later years they retired and purchased a home in Aylmer. Evelyn was an accomplished artist and had a keen eye for capturing nature, people and places in time. She was a member of the Clarkson Artist Society and her art won many events at juried shows. Evelyn will be remembered for canning fruit, baking cakes, pies and keeping a beautiful home. A celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11 a.m. Donations to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
