Elaine Lake (nee Southworth), in her 91st year on her way to another bridge game with her friends at the beloved Roseland Club, passed peacefully. A life well lived with the love of her life Ken (d.2012); together they explored the world of travel through: Olympic and International track & field officiating, tennis, golf and cards. She will remain in the memories of her many friends from the Roseland Club.
Remembered by her daughters Sandy Hornseth (Norm) and Jennifer Lake (Sjon); two grandsons Richard (Lisa) and Tyler; and two great-granddaughters Presley and Kendall whose playful antics via FaceTime brought many smiles to Elaine’s face. Elaine will be especially missed by her sister Edith Hawboldt, who has always been by her side, in times of ‘play’ and ‘need’.
A Celebration of Life at the Roseland Club (Burlington)will take place in late October. In lieu of flowers, donations to Joseph Brant Hospital Burlington would be appreciated by the family. Special thanks to Nic and his wonderful staff, especially Teresa, at Chartwell Christopher Terrace Retirement for their care and concern of Elaine in her ‘home’ for the last six years.
