Obituary
It is with broken hearts that the family of Donald Percy Fitzpatrick, beloved husband of Valerie (Lidstone) Fitzpatrick, announces his passing which occurred on May 17, 2022, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on June 29, 1948, he was the son of the late Ralph and Marie (Stopp) Fitzpatrick.
After serving a term in the Canadian Navy, Don became a CPA, CMA and was employed with Saint John Shipbuilding, the Rocca Group, and the Family Shoe Shoppes. He enjoyed sailing on his boat, Allegro, golfing and hockey. He loved their canine companions over the years.
Besides his loving wife Valerie, he is survived by his brothers, William (Joanne), Brian (Corinne), Raymond (Susan), Stephen (Mary) and Kevin (Holly), his sisters Joan Chenier and Debbie Fitzpatrick, his sister-in-law Loretta Mahaffey, and several nieces, nephews and cousins,
He was predeceased by his brother Robert and his wife Kay (O’Connor) Fitzpatrick, sister Nancy Harris, niece Anne-Marie Harris and brothers-in-law Robert Chenier and Glen Lidstone.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Following cremation, visitation will take place on Saturday, May 21, 2022, from 1-3pm followed by the funeral service. Donations in Don’s memory to the SPCA or a charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated.
It is the family preference that visiting family and friends wear masks.
