Donald passed away October 23, 2022 in St. Boniface Hospital with his dearly beloved wife Valerie by his side.
He was born February 23, 1946 in St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg. He was the youngest of three children born to Henry and Mary and brother to Doreen (Fred) and Bill (Kathy) in Millbrook, Manitoba.
He and his wife of 53 years ran a mixed farm near Glass, Manitoba until 2019, when they moved to Anola until his passing. They enjoyed big meals and parties with family, including all of the Ingrams, listening to old time music, and dancing. They travelled many miles together in Canada, Europe, Australia, Pacific Islands, and Central America by motorcycle, train, cruise ship, plane, and in Donald’s most valued possession, his 1954 Ford Crestline Skyliner. Farming wasn’t just something he did, it was who he was. He loved all animals and raised livestock and grain for many years. He also had a 27 year career at CN rail as a machinist and supervisor, followed by a second career driving semi truck, where he made lifelong friendships.
He is dearly missed by his wife Valerie, children Shawn (Tina), Ryan (Kellie), and Deanna (Scott), grandchildren, Taylor, Matthew (Lucynda), Devyn, Keely, Brittany, Aiden, Max, Evan, Abbie and August, as well as three great grandchildren, Lincoln, Harvey, and Hadlee, and so many nieces, nephews and good friends.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 1:00pm at Millbrook Cemetery followed by a celebration of Donald’s life at 1:30pm at the Dugald Community Club 544 Holland Street in Dugald.
