Tomlinson, Barry Fenton – 73 of Kennetcook passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 11, 2022, after a short battle with cancer. Born in Truro on February 20, 1949, he was the son of the late Arthur and Mary Elizabeth “Lizzie” Tomlinson.
Barry drove truck for many years, right up until a month before he passed, making friends along the way. He was a very hard worker and took great pride in all that he did.
For many years Barry never missed a dance, he loved fiddle music and he loved to dance.
The love of horses was born and bred in Barry, from work horses to racehorses, he loved them all, always with a soft spot in his heart for Sammy’s Spirit.
He loved to be a jokester and enjoyed a good teasing; you could hear his contagious laugh in a crowd. He always had a smile on his face.
He had many special friends over the years who always meant the world to him.
Barry is survived by his loving daughter, Tammy (Davey), his granddaughter Reese, sister, Lynne (Kennedy), her children Ryan and Carrie. His loving companion Linda (White), her children Terry and Kim and their families. Mother-in-law Estel Harvie, sisters-in-law Amelia (Lee), Brenda (Brian), Edna (Mike), brothers-in-law, Walter, Michael (Dawn) and Donnie as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Wanda, father-in-law, Angus White, brothers-in-law, Keith Kennedy and Gerry Harvie.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 18, from 2-4pm in the J Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook. A private family burial will follow.
Donations in memory of Barry can be made to the North Noel Road Cemetery or charity of choice.
