Bucholtz, Arnold Frederich
November 19, 1936 to May 4, 2022
On May 4, 2022, Arnold Frederich Bucholtz of Westlock passed away peacefully at the age of 85.
Arnold was predeceased by his loving wife of 21 years, Margaret Sophie, in 2008.
Arnold was born on a farm near Bruderheim, Alberta, the youngest of four siblings, from there the family moved briefly to a farm near Barrhead. They eventually settled in the Pickardville area, where Arnold farmed, got married (at 51) and lived until 1997. Margaret and Arnold then moved off the farm and into Westlock, where they enjoyed semi-retirement. Arnold worked seasonally at the Legal Alfalfa Plant from the summer of 1979 up until he was 79 years old, he loved it!
Arnold was always up for a visit from his family and friends to catchup and just tell stories, those of us who knew Arnold truly understood his compassion and ability to make us feel at home.
At Arnold’s request, no service will be held.
We would like to sincerely thank all the staff at Smithfield Lodge who made Arnold’s stay there memorable and, in his words, “made living with these old people tolerable and fun”. We also want to sincerely thank all those staff members, nurses and doctors at the Westlock Health Care Centre who made his remaining time there as comfortable and peaceful as possible, words cannot thank you all enough.
