FLEMING, Angela Mary (July 14, 1927 – August 30, 2022) – Passed peacefully away on August 30th, 2022, Angela Fleming of Torbay, in her 96th year. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Josephine Mackey; her husband, Samuel (2004); her sons: Samuel Jr. (2012) and Dennis (2021); daughter, Margaret Hancock (2019); sons-in-law: David Finch and Doug Hancock; sister, Rita Croke; and brothers: Patrick, Bernard and John Mackey.
Leaving to mourn with beautiful and lasting memories are her children: daughters Eileen Finch and Joanne Penney, and sons William Fleming and Don Fleming (Donna); her sister Anne Whalen (Tom, deceased); daughter-in-law, Michelle Fleming; grandchildren: Vicki-Lynn Parker, Jeff Hancock, Jennifer Kennedy-Fleming, Sarah Rice, Jessica Wakeham, Elizabeth and Ryan Penney, Leon and Ian Fleming, and Melissa Fleming-Finch; five great-grandchildren; as well as special nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention.
She also leaves to mourn, her special friends: Christine Kennedy, Ron and Elaine Hutchings, Derrick Hefferton, Rick Ricketts, her 50+ card club friends, and her tea buddies: Mary, Sheila, Anne, Theresa, Elaine, Pauline, Janet and Elva.
Angela was born and raised in St. Brendan’s, Bonavista Bay, and after marrying the man of her dreams, moved to St. John’s and later to Torbay where they raised seven children and enjoyed many years of good times playing cards, picking berries, trouting and enjoying the company of their many dear friends.
After Sam’s passing, Angela enjoyed a very active social life – attending so many functions including BINGO, cards, 50+, and Dinner Theatre to name a few. She looked forward to her daily conversations with her special cousin Glen Mackey.
Angela was steadfast in her faith and committed to her God and church. She and Sam were seen regularly at parish functions and helped out at many a fundraiser.
Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, TORBAY, on Friday, September 2nd, from 11am-9pm, and Saturday, September 3rd, from 10am-12noon. Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Holy Trinity Church in Torbay on Saturday, September 3rd at 2:00pm, with interment to follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bauline Line.
