Obituary for
Andrew « Andy » Woitas
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew Woitas “Andy” of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. He died peacefully surrounded by his family on January 26, 2022 at the age of 94.
Andy is survived by Steffie, his loving wife of 64 years; son, Richard (Jocelyn), daughters, Patricia Pertschy (Bill), Linda Sikora (Jim), Janice Malowany (Alan) and Sandra Huys (Grant); 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Woitas; sisters, Ann Ewasiuk and Kay Stelmack; brother, Michael Woitas; and son-in-law, Rick Malowany.
A private Divine Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 10 a.m. at the Exaltation of the Holy Cross Ukrainian Catholic Church Skaro, Alberta
The family wishes you to join them February 1, 2022 at the Bruderheim Community Hall for a celebration of life. A hot lunch will be served at 1 p.m., followed by remembrance and prayers. Per the Restriction Exemption Program, to attend you must provide proof of vaccination or proof of a negative rapid PCR COVID test taken within 72 hours of entry.
The family extends their gratitude to the AHS Home Care Team and the staff of the Fort Saskatchewan Hospital for the care and compassion given to Andy.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Exaltation of the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Skaro.
