It is with great sadness that the family of Albert Carl Lamers announces his passing on Monday, November 28, 2022 at 94 years of age in the Palliative Care Unit, Pasqua Hospital, Regina, Saskatchewan.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children Rodney Lamers (Brenda), Brian Lamers (Nadine), Jennifer Werle (Kerry), Laura McGlynn (Joseph) and his granddaughters Carmen Woods (John), Cora Lamers and Emily Lamers. Albert was predeceased by his wife of 63 years Lorna; his siblings Art, Martha and Minnie; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Albert was a man of many skills and interests. He was a successful grain farmer and an avid collector and dealer of all things antique. There was nothing he liked more than the ‘thrill of the chase’ for antiques at auction sales and shows. He also very much enjoyed his annual hunting and fishing trips in Northern Saskatchewan. He ran an art gallery in Regina for a few years as well as a China repair business in his home. In 2015, Albert and Lorna moved to Broadway Terrace in Regina. They enjoyed all the advantages of being in the city as well as a full social life. In 2021, Albert moved to Harvest Haven within Broadway Terrace and received excellent care for which his children are extremely grateful.
The family of Albert also wish to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit for bringing Dad comfort and peace in his last days.
Those wishing to make a donation in Albert’s memory may do so to the Palliative Care Unit, Pasqua Hospital, Regina, Saskatchewan. There will be a Private Family Graveside Service sometime in the Spring of 2023.
