Lawrence, Yvonne Laura, 79 of Greenville, Yarmouth Co. N.S. , passed away peacefully on August 17, 2021. Born in Weymouth Falls, January 10, 1942, she was a daughter to the late Austin and Marjorie Langford. Yvonne attended Mrs. Murphy’s Business College in Halifax and graduated as Valedictorian of her class. She started her working career at Roy O’Brien’s Fruit and Vegetables and Klein’s in Halifax. She moved from Halifax back to Yarmouth in 1969 working at IMP Group then Scotia Bank for 30 years, finishing her career as a personal banking officer. After retirement she was involved in the community, helping people in any way she could. She volunteered at local elementary schools to read to children, sat on the board of Children and Family Services. Yvonne was a very fashionable woman, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Sheridan Sr.; sons, Sheridan Jr. (Ruth-Anne) Lawrence, Greenville; Troy (Sonia) Lawrence, Dayton; grandchildren, Garet; Lauren; Mielle; Nash; sisters, Marilyn Cromwell, Digby; Bess Tasco, Coldbrook; Ellen Langford, Weymouth Falls; Venessa Langford, Weymouth Falls. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brother, Jack Langford; sister, Shirley Henry. Visitation will be Saturday, August 21,2021 from 3-5 & 7-9 pm in the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be Sunday, August 22, 2021, at 2 pm also from the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Raymond Pitcher officiating. Interment in the Greenville Cemetery. Family Flowers only. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Tri County VON, Yarmouth/ Argyle Home Care or the Greenville United Baptist Church.
