Willis Frederick (Fred) E. Hare
1944-2021
Fred Hare of Pointe du Chene, NB passed away at home on June
10, 2021 with his loving wife Vivianne by his side. Born in
Newcastle he was the son of the late Jean (Dupuis) and Willis
Hare.
Fred leaves behind his wife Vivianne Hare, now grown family
of Fern (Neil) Matchett of Miramichi, NB, Scott (Nicole) Hare of
Oakville, ON, Dawn (Kirby) Irmscher of Victoria, BC, Daniel
(Ann) Hare of Port Elgin, ON, Natalie (Kirk) Hare of Ajax, ON, Lindsay
(Michel) McCluskey of Shediac, NB, and step-family Russell (Dana)
Harper of Georgetown, ON and Theresa (Peter) Heller of Franklin,
ME. He also leaves behind brothers Laurie Hare (Jeanette)
and William Hare (Diane) and sister Marilyn (Sam)
Williamson.
After a career in business working for CN, RCA and Canadair,
Fred pursued his love for aviation by coming an air traffic controller
with Transport Canada and later Nav Canada. Fred served in
various locations in Canada and spent two years with a
Canadian International Development Agency project in Antigua and
Barbados. Fred later joined the International Civil Aviation
Organization and served two years in Saudi Arabia and seven years with
the General Civil Aviation Authority in the United Arab Emirates on
the Executive Board.
On retirement, Fred and Vivianne enjoyed winters in Fort
Myers, Florida playing bridge, shuffleboard and biking.
Respecting his wishes cremation has taken place at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine
Road, Riverview (869-2007). Donations made to Friends of the
Moncton Hospital or CHU Dumont Foundation would be appreciated by his
family. A private graveside service will take place in the
Miramichi at a later date. Online condolences may be
