Passed away peacefully at the age of 81.
A generous loving husband to his wife Mary (nee Hinschberger) for 59 years. Proud, giving and amazing father to his three sons Paul (Jane), Douglas (Sharon) and Michael (Laura Lee). He loved his six grandchildren Kyla (Derek), Victoria, Olyvia, Kaitlin, Thomas and Matthew. Great grandfather to Max.
Survived by his brother Lloyd (Celeste). Sisters-in-law Evelyn and Monica Haffner, Marilyn (Ron) Merkle, Joanne (Ron) Dietrich and Rose (Wayne) Forwell. Brothers-in-law Len (Norma) Brenner, John (Betty) Hinschberger, Jerry (Dorothy) Hinschberger and Bob McAllister. Bill always enjoyed family gatherings with his many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents George and Bernadette Haffner, siblings Dorothy (George) Meyer, Audrey (Harold) Esbaugh, Dianne McAllister, Ray, Claude and Carol Anne, and sisters-in-law Patricia (Ron) Beaupre and Marion Hinschberger.
Bill enjoyed a lifetime of friendship through a competitive game of horseshoes, golf and over 35 years with the St. Clements Euchre Club. These past times created many lasting friendships as did his time in Bayfield at Bluewater Golf Course. Bill was also an active member of the St. Clement Lions Club and the St. Clement R.C. Church.
A special thank you to the wonderful staff, nurses and PSW’s at Strathcona Long Term Care, Mount Forest who cared for Bill over the last 2 years.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church, 3619 Lobsinger Line, St. Clements on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Irenaeus Koziak as Celebrant. Interment to follow at St. Clement Cemetery. To attend The Mass of Christian Burial, please wear a face mask, observe physical distancing, and register (RSVP) by contacting the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445. The family has requested that everyone attending be fully vaccinated.
