Obituary for Wayne Emerson Young
Died peacefully at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on December 29, 2021, at age 94. Son of John and Nina Young, brother of Betty Walker (deceased), loving husband of Barbara (deceased), father of Paula (Bruce), John (Judy), and Patricia (deceased). Dear friend of Marilyn Metcalfe. Wayne will be missed by his grandchildren Lori, Emily, Eric, Heather, Amy and Meghan. Also missed by great-grandchildren Isobel, Olivia and Jack, Philippa, Charlotte, Olivia, Elliott, Audrey and Max.
His long life was filled with singing in church and community choirs in the barbershop choruses and quartets. He loved playing baseball. He loved the cottage on Horseshoe Lake, Haliburton, where he could fish and swim and enjoy nature. He always did crosswords in ink and he loved to play scrabble and cribbage with Marilyn. His love of music lives on in his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Arrangements entrusted to Circle of Life, Dundas. There will be no service at this time due to Covid. At a later date, there will be a family graveside service to mark the burial of his ashes beside Barbara’s at Grove Cemetery in Dundas.
