Obituary for
Vince Dixon
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Vince Dixon on July 13, 2021 at the age of 63.
He is survived by his best friend and loving wife, Sylvia; son, Ryan and fiancée Sabrina; daughter, Emily; son-in-law, Keanan, Opa’s little girls, Megan, Brooklyn, Kaitlin, and Colbie; brother, Greg (Rosa); sister in-law, Debbie; mother in-law, Elfriede; brother in-law, Erroll (Carol); cousins, George (Kim) and Angela (Mike); best friends, Tom and Gwen; and many loved nieces, nephews, and extended relatives and friends.
Vince is predeceased by his parents, John and Kathleen; brother, Darrell; and father in-law, Emil.
Vinny was devoted to his family and to those he loved most. Vince could always be counted on for a helping hand, some words of encouragement, a compassionate ear, and most definitely an inappropriate joke. There was nothing more important to Vince than his family. He deeply loved Sylvia, always exploring new adventures while raising two children together. Vince never missed an opportunity to spend time with Ryan and Emily. He was an incredible coach, father, and mentor, all the while being a successful business owner.
Vince had a passion for Golf and was happiest when on the course. His love of the game included playing, buying the newest ‘fix’ for his short game, watching golf, or hiding in the garage, cleaning his clubs and marking his golf balls for the next round. Vince’s true happy place was the family cabin at Pigeon Lake. The perfect lake day for Vinny was a day full of projects, both little and large, ending with a campfire surrounded by friends and family.
Vince will be truly missed by all that knew him. He had an incredible impact on so many lives, and all those lucky enough to know him were drawn in by his infectious personality, sincere kindness, and unique sense of humour.
A private Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Taite Boomer Memorial Brain Tumour Foundation or to the charity of one’s choice.
Cremation has taken place.
