It is with deep sadness that the family of the late VICTOR DAY of Garnish announces his passing. Victor passed away at his home in Garnish on Friday, November 26th, 2021 at the age of 82.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his son, Derrick Day of Garnish; daughters, Debbie Marshall (Randy) of Garnish, Georgie Day (Melvin Rideout) of Garnish, and Pauline Day (Ernest Baker) of Grand Bank; 3 grandchildren, Darryl Marshall (Stephanie), Courtney Day (Dylan Newell), and Dana Marshall (Dion Caines); 2 great-grandchildren, Adrianna Caines and Quinn Marshall; sisters, Bernice Day (Bill) of Ontario, Sadie Grandy (Lloyd) of Garnish, Margaret Sweet of Nova Scotia, and Joan Inkpen of Nova Scotia; brothers, Lloyd Day (Meta) of Garnish, Herbert Day (Cora) of Garnish, James Day (Doris) of Garnish, Gerald Day (Lily) of Garnish, and Onslow Day of Garnish; brother-in-law, Sherman Harfitt of Lewins Cove; plus a large circle of relatives and friends.
Victor was predeceased by his wife Lucy Day; parents, William & Ethel Day; and sister Jean Harfitt.
The Day Family will be accepting visitors at the Salvation Army Citadel in Garnish on Saturday, November 27th, from 2pm – 4pm and 7pm – 9pm and Sunday, November 28th, from 2pm – 4pm and 7pm – 9pm. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions this will be a walk through visitation. When entering the church you will be required to show proof of vaccination and photo ID. Everyone is asked to sign the contact tracing sheet and masks are required.
Due to limited capacity because of the Covid-19 restrictions, a private funeral service will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel in Garnish on Monday, November 29th, 2021 at 2:30 pm.
Interment will follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Garnish.
In Victor’s memory in-lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army Cemetery Fund, Garnish.
