Passed away peacefully at the Glengarry Memorial Hospital on Monday, February 22, 2021. Tina Ellen Cairncross of Glen Roy; age 73 years. Beloved partner of Edwina Billyk. Loving sister of Judy Butts (late Bob) of Victoria, B.C., and Scott Cairncross (Mary) of Milton Ontario. Cherished aunt of Christopher Cairncross (Shona) of Milton, Bret Kelly of Toronto and Tiffany O’Leary (Dan) of Ottawa. Dear daughter of the late John Duncan and Florence Isabelle Cairncross (nee Timmins). Tina loved her thirty year teaching career at Glengarry District High School, her life was full, she was busy, she was in her element. In retirement she remained active with the best group of friends one could ever hope to have. They golfed, kayaked, camped, hiked, snow shoed, skied, sang, and had many good times and laughs. The support she received through her cancer journey was unparalleled, from drivers to soup sisters and the huge moral support. At Tina’s request cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772).
