Obituary for Tim Drake
It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Tim (Donald Timothy Earl) Drake at 52 years young. Tim left this world on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer, his devoted fiancée Michelle Hottinger-Dominique at his side.
Taken from us far too soon, Tim will be greatly missed by his children Marleise Drake (Krystal), Aiden and Erin Ready-Drake, as well as Michelle’s daughter Savannah Browne. Predeceased by his father Don in 2003, Tim is survived by his loving mother Karen (Herb) Exley, brother David (Tonia), sister Leslie and nephews Austin and Alex. Tim treasured and was much loved by Mike and Jess Hottinger, a large extended family and an incredible group of friends that meant the world to him.
Tim was truly one of a kind. Easy going with his natural charm and great sense of humour, he quickly became friends with anyone he met. A kid at heart, Tim was still wearing his Star Wars or Marvel t-shirts and rocking out to 80s tunes in his final days. His passing will leave a huge void in the hearts of many, but he will never be forgotten.
Special thanks to cousin Jessica Pemberton for her help and support during Tim’s brave fight, the countless friends and family members who offered to help out with appointments, meals or visits, and to the wonderful staff at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice for ensuring a peaceful end to a life well lived.
In keeping with Tim’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations to the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice in Hamilton kemphospice.org/ or the Cancer Assistance Program cancerassist.ca/ in Tim’s memory.
