It is with heavy hearts the family of Thomas (Tom) Upshall announce his passing at home surrounded by his adoring family on Sunday, March 14,2021 at the age of 72 years.
Tom is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Violet Upshall, brother Wayne and sisters Barbara Ann and Linda Upshall. Mother and Father in law, Herbert and Ellen Worthman, brothers in law Jim Green and Bob Stead, sister in law Phyllis Worthman.
Left to mourn with a lifetime of cherished memories, the love of Tom’s life and best friend, wife of 45 years, Mary(nee Worthman) his 5 children whom he was so proud of, Christine Whiteway (Carl), Tom (Jacquie), Dave (Linda) , Glen (Lisa) and Carolann Morgan (Paul) as well as the absolute joy of Tom’s life his grandchildren, Robert, Christopher and Kimberly Whiteway, Tristan and Emma Upshall, Cole and Caitlin Upshall, Leah and Ella Morgan, Jordan Parker and Bailey Upshall, as well as great grandchildren, Abby Tulk and Ryland Whiteway, Thomas and Sadie Whiteway and Maddix and Aria Parker.
Also leaving to mourn Tom’s life, sister Carol Stead, brothers and sisters in law, Irene Green, Dave Worthman (Betty), Llew Worthman (Linda) , Wayne Worthman (Wanda) , Ivy Worthman, Evelyn Reid ( Paul) and Jimmy Worthman (Kim) as well as a large extended family who adored him.
The family wish to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr’s Drodge and Rorke, the nurses and staff of the Chemotherapy and Radiation units of the cancer clinic, nurses and staff of the palliative care unit and longtime family Dr. and friend, John Janes.
Tom will be forever and fondly remembered for his quick wit and sense of humour, love of a day spent trouting or a trip to the cabin in Mahers, but what he truly loved the most was his family. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting and knowing Tom can tell you his family was his life.
We will continue to celebrate Tom’s life in all the things he enjoyed. Hockey games on Saturday night and dinner every Sunday surrounded by his family.
Cremation has taken place. Due to COVID restrictions, a private service for immediate family will take place at Cauls Funeral Home, with a celebration of Tom’s life to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Toms memory to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
