Stuart Russell Lamers
December 02, 1938 – May 30, 2021
Stu’s beautiful and kind heart peacefully left us with a final dose of love on Sunday May 30, 2021 at the age of 82, surrounded by close family. He will be dearly missed by family and friends everywhere, especially by the love of his life Susan, whom he cherished beyond words. Their love story is outstanding and immeasurable, and began in their youth, meeting on the docks of Juniper Island, Stony Lake. He is sadly missed by his two children Wendy (Bill), and Michael (Simone) who absolutely adored him, and his sister Judy. His grandchildren Kate and Leah lovingly called him “Poppy”, and he was treasured by Elyse, Kaimon, Davis, Jackson, and great-grandson Sloan. Stu truly valued his lifelong friendships and held his extended family of cousins, in-laws, nieces, and nephews close to his heart.
Stu had a presence that was larger than life, with an enormous inviting smile, illuminating a gentle giant and an extremely kind soul. His countless tales and life lessons were his gift to us, along with an abundance of laughter and love. He was the music that encouraged us all to dance, reinforcing “Life is not a dress rehearsal”. We are hoping to celebrate Stu’s life some time in the future when we can hug each other tightly and dance freely to the music of his heart. Fondly remember and share the gift of Stu’s stories, as he loved us all so much
