Obituary of Stephen Lorne Stewart
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dearly beloved Stephen Lorne Stewart age 65 of Saint John, New Brunswick. Born May 11th, 1956 & left his earthly home to be greeted with loving arms from our Dad, Mom, Son Eric & grandmother (mum) grandfather and other loved ones passed in heaven July 4th, 2021.
Stephen was the first-born son of Lorne Edward Stewart & Joyce Muriel Sears. It was a blessing & an honor that he had the privilege of being raised by his maternal Grandmother Hattie Mae (Estabrooks) Sears whom he called Mum from Sackville NB. Stephen loved life & loved his family dearly. In his earlier years he enjoyed camping with his family. He loved music & taught himself to play guitar at a very young age. He thoroughly enjoyed playing guitar & singing as did much of our family. Stephen’s love of music brought great joy to all of our family when gathered together in Amherst, NS for awesome kitchen parties!! Stephen sung and sounded exactly like Neil Young. He also loved Willie Nelson, Bob Dillan, Jimmy Hendrix, James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot to name a few. Following his cousin (more like a brother) David (Nancy) He moved to Saint John, NB in 1975 and was employed at the sugar refinery and also worked at Sims Paint Brush Factory at one time.
Steve was predeceased by his first-born Son Eric Stephen Stewart of whom he adored. Mother, Joyce Muriel (Sears) Stewart; Father, Lorne Edward Stewart; Grandparents, Hattie Mae Sears (Estabrooks); Grandfather Raymond Sears; dearest sister Christina Lee Stewart, several aunts & uncles & cousins.
He is survived by his beloved Son Stephen Eric Stewart whom he adored; Oldest Sister Dianne Joyce Stewart of Moncton; Twin Brothers Karl Raymond & Kelly Charles Stewart of Salisbury NB; 1st Wife Sandra Hawkins (Frank) (Erics Mom) of St John NB; 2nd wife Jackie Stewart of Moncton (Stephen Jr’s Mom); His Cousin & Best friend Dave Haley Sr (Nancy) of St John NB; Special Aunts Joan Throop of Sackville NB, Dorothy Steeves of Hillsborough NB, Jessie Cormier & Frances Haley (Jerry) Uncle Bobby (Margie) Sears. All from Amherst; Uncle Raymond (Corrinne) Sears of Yukon; Dear cousins of which were more like Brothers & Sisters of Amherst Nova Scotia, Sackville & Hillsborough NB.
He will be sadly missed by all who know & loved him. Rest Easy dear Brother, Dearest Father until we meet again. Our hearts are officially broken.
