Marie also leaves behind her Grandchildren, whom she fondly referred to as her «babies»; Kyle (Dominique), Dylan, Jack, Gabrielle, Eve and Xavier. Along with her twin brother Bruce Lush, Marie will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Melva Wiseman (Harold), Beryl Ryan (Freeman), Loretta Fudge (Gerald), Rita Lush and Lorraine Lush; brothers-in-law Charles Brinston, Eric Brinston (Madonna), Ivan Brinston (Ethel); sisters-in-law Marcie Lush and Evelyn Lush as well as a large circle of Nieces, Nephews, cousins and friends.
Marie is predeceased by her Husband Howard Brinston, parents Gordon and Bertha Lush, parents-in-law George and Mae Brinston; her siblings Pierce Lush, Ralph Lush and Linda Weir and brother-in-law, Donald Weir.
All those who knew Mom will be forever left with memories of her kindness, devotion to her family and her sense of humor. She loved to laugh and make others laugh. It was the best medicine!! Over the years she spent countless hours volunteering her time and shared her cooking/baking/knitting talents for events in her community and beyond. She made the best pot of soup, cooked a mean jiggs dinner and her pies were heavenly! She gave freely and asked for nothing in return. She loved a good game of darts and bingo and a scattered Big Mary.
We would like to sincerely thank the staff on the Medicine Unit at Dr.G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Compassion Home Care (Amanda, Bernice and Elaina – her beautiful homecare workers), Community Care Staff, Belinda Brown (community health nurse), and Dr. Shasha & Dr. Wee for their expectional care during Mom’s brief but couragous battle with cancer. Your kindness, dedication, professionalism and compassion will be forever remembered. To all who offered love and support in any way during Mom’s illness and passing, your kindness will forever be embeded upon our hearts.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life service for Mom is planned for later this summer.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the family or to Bethel United Church in North Harbour.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Vardy’s Funeral Home, Random Island, NL
