Obituary of Sophie Butt
Passed peacefully away at the Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, in the presence of her loving family, Sophie Butt, age 102 years, of Carbonear, formerly of Freshwater, Carbonear.
Sophie is predeceased by her parents: Mark and Patience (Pottle) Butt; loving husband: Henry; son: Vincent; daughter: Marilyn Butt; daughter-in-law: Lorna Butt; great-granddaughter: Quinn Butt.
Sophie is survived by her son, Herbert, Carbonear; daughter-in-law: Iris Butt, Carbonear; grandchildren: Trevor, Lynn (Trevor), David (Melissa), Kirk (Jo-Lynn), Trent, Laura, Jan (Devon), Karla (Mike), and Kristen (Andrew); as well as thirteen great-grandchildren.
Sophie’s family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of 3 North at the Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear, for the years of care, compassion and company provided to Sophie. A special thanks as well to the wonderful PCA’s, LPN’s, and other staff who made her last few days so peaceful.
Visitation at Noel’s Funeral Home, Carbonear on Friday, December 3 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.; Saturday, December 4 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Funeral Service to take place on Saturday, December 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethany United Church, Carbonear.
Interment to follow in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear.
Proof of vaccination will be required to attend the visitation and funeral service.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
