On July 23, 2021 Jean Ruth Snider (nee Pahal) passed away in Edmonton 3 days shy of her 81st birthday. Jean is survived by Darren (Mavis), Daena, Dr. Douglas (Kimber) and her sister Sharon (Wes) Seidel; She leaves behind six grandchildren, Benjamin, Cameron, Douglas, Brianna, Jacqueline and Annika; She is survived by sisters-in-law Jennifer Marshall, Mary Lange and Hazel Magnussen. Jean was predeceased by her husband Dr. Douglas Snider, son Grant, sister Elaine Pahal, brother Darrell Pahal, and her nephew Lee Seidel.
Jean spent her early years in Edmonton attending the U of A and obtaining a BSc in Medical Laboratory Science. She had a great love for the Peace Country as she lived in La Glace, Fort Vermillion and Fairview. Most of her working years were spent in Fairview actively supporting her husband’s medical practice and raising 4 children. After the passing of her husband, Jean moved to Port Alberni to be with her companion, Mike Potrebenko.
The family acknowledges the outstanding care provided to Jean by the staff at Capital Care Grandview.
