Obituary
It is with heavy hearts and appreciation for a life well lived the family announces the passing of Shirley Ann (Mullin) Doucette, on May 10, 2021 in her 91st year at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born in Saint John on November 5, 1929 to the late Charles and Francis (Given) Mullen and was the loving wife to her late husband Leo Doucette.
Shirley cherished her family and loved to spend every moment she could with them. She loved to cook and was proud to cook family dinners on every occasion. Shirley enjoyed going for long drives and looked forward to playing TV bingo every Tuesday night. She was the number one fan for the Montreal Canadian’s and the Boston Red Sox.
She will be missed dearly by her children Robert “Bobby”, Gary, Murray, Brian (Barb), David and Mark; grandchildren Andrea, Sean, Stephanie, Michael, Charlene and Christopher; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son Donald; sisters Mary, Francis, Theresa and Catherine; and brothers Arthur, Joe and Albert.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Visitation will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021 from the hours of 9:00 – 10:45 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Friends are asked to meet at the Cemetery.
Donations in Shirley’s memory may be made towards the SPCA or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
