Shelly A. Williams, of Miramichi, passed away at home on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the age of 59.
Born in Chatham, she was the daughter of Rosemary Williams and raised by her maternal grandparents Lollie (Hare) and Richard (Dick) Williams. Shelly graduated from University of New Brunswick in 1983 with a bachelor’s in arts, she went on to receive her Bachelor of Law from University of New Brunswick in 1986 and was accepted to Bar in 1987.
Shelly was an active member of many community organizations and services and a former City of Miramichi Councilor having served 9 years.
She will be greatly missed by her husband Stephen Brown; sister Gail Flaherty (Mark Clark) of Crocker Hill; two brothers Gary Flaherty (Jill Chapman) of Napan and Greg Flaherty (Heather Falconer) of Miramichi; two nephews Mitchell Flaherty and Rylin Flaherty; niece Kaitlynn Flaherty; and several cousins in the United States and Miramichi Region.
At her request, there will be no visitation. A Funeral service will take place at The Point Church on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at 11 am, with Pastor Kevin Matthews officiating.
As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to VON, Charlotte County SPCA, Miramichi Food Bank, and Salvation Army.
