Obituary
Due to the severity of Ruth’s last illness the decision was made to have her chose the time and date of her own death with the help of M.A.I.D (Medical Assistance In Dying). Ruth however passed on December 1st at 10:30 p.m.
Predeceased by her family;
Irene on December 1st 1978
Seville on April 4th 1986
Joyce on October 1st 2017
Ruth’s passing will sadden the many friends, and people she met on her many travels over the years.
She is remembered and mourned by many friends including Maureen Holleran of St. Catharines, Marilyn Poyton and Daphne Smith of Burlington and Barb Oulton of Guelph. She will also be remembered by good friends Earl and Elaine Hilton of Bracebridge.
Ruth achieved her childhood dream of becoming a nurse and was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1963. She will be fondly remembered by her nursing classmates.Her long nursing career included many years of devoted service at Henderson General Hospital as well as time in England. She loved to travel and spent many happy days in Barbados and Spain.
Cremation and burial have taken place.
