With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our cherished mother Rosina, in her 83rd year. With a song in her heart and kindness in her soul, she joins the love of her life, Pietro Bertolo.
Rosina will be sadly missed by her 4 children Bert (Shelly), Joe (Barbara), Cristina (Gary), and Geri (Leah) and by her treasured grandchildren Tianna (Victor), Nicole, Nikki, Michael, and Marco.
One of 15 siblings from Sydney, Nova Scotia she was born on April 18, 1938 to the late Salvatore Pino and the late Marie Camus. Survived by siblings Germaine Jacobs (late Frank), Margaret Parks (Michael), and Cecilia Pino-Francis (Albert). Predeceased by Americo Pino (late Lucy), Frances Baryluc (late Anthony), Anthony Pino (late Annie Rose), Mario Pino (late Alma), Rita LeBrun (late William), John Pino (Muriel), Adeline King (late George), Joseph Pino (Carmine), Rudolf Pino, Matilda Epifano (late Louie), Virginia Pyke (George).
Loving sister-in-law to Duilia Trigiani (late Tony), and the late Dina Manzon (Ediliano). Rosina leaves behind many neices, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A longtime parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Rosina was a proud member of the CWL and of the choir. Rosina’s gift, her beautiful voice, filled the hearts of many and has celebrated and highlighted weddings, funerals, and church services. Rosina was always willing to help anyone in need, she loved to cook and feed people. Sunday dinners were always special, birthdays always came with your favorite dish, the smell of sugo filled the house. Being married to a hunter and fisherman, she made everything taste like heaven. Being from a large family she loved to gather, sing, and dance. Music truly was her passion, a passion the Residents of Amica were lucky to enjoy for the last few years of her life.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Amica Stoney Creek for becoming a second family to Mom, especially the staff of assisted living and memory care. Your care and compassion went above and beyond, especially in these trying times, we know you loved our Mom.
We would also like to thank Dr. Frasier for his many years of care at Juravinski Cancer Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Juravinski Cancer Centre. Private Family Services have been entrusted to Bay Gardens Funeral Home.
Music is the song of the soul, the whisper in the wind, the rhythm of the heart
