Ronald’s Obituary
It is with extreme sadness that the family of Ronald Morris, born at St. David’s, NL, on September 1, 1946, announce his sudden but peaceful passing on August 5, 2021, at his residence in Curling, NL.
Ron retired from the Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Mill, Corner Brook, after a long career of 41 years. In recent years he enjoyed spending time with his wharf buddies along the South Shore of the Bay of Islands exchanging yarns and jokes and discussing the fishery and local matters. He enjoyed time in the woods cutting his winter wood supply. He loved to be out and about the city chatting with everyone he met and knew. He enjoyed cooking and baking and savoured his Jiggs Dinners. He loved to laugh and entertain as well as being entertained. He will be remembered as generous and kind-hearted.
Ron leaves behind to mourn his beloved son, Jeffrey Morris, of Montreal, Quebec, of whom he was very proud, his loving companion, Cathy Mitchell, whom he met at the Mill 33 years ago, and his fur friend, Sammi. He also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Mabel Morris, of St. David’s, NL, six nieces and nephews, scattered throughout Canada, and members of the Mitchell family from Corner Brook, NL, to British Columbia, and many friends.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, Harriett and Augustus Morris, and his brothers, Roland and Aubrey, all of St. David’s.
Ron wished that his mortal body be cremated and that his everlasting soul rests in peace in the Light and Mercy of the Lord. Remember Ron in your prayers.
At Ron’s request there will be no visitation or formal service.
