It is with the deepest sadness that the family of Ron Goertzen announce his passing on May 17, 2021, at 63 years of age.
Ron was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by his wife, Kim; mom, Adaline; children and step-children: Laura (Tyler), Steven (Sam), Kurtis (Tiffany), Justin (Misty) and Aaron (Alex); 9 beautiful grandchildren; and siblings: Murray (Caroline), Darrell (Kim), Brian (Wanda), Brenda, and Jim (Renee).
Ron’s faith was the cornerstone of his life and defined who he was. His gentle ways, sense of humour, and love for his family were an inspiration to all who knew him. His dedication as a volunteer at his beloved Grace Lutheran Church was commendable, and he worked hard at operating his own electrical contracting business for over 30 years.
A special thank you to the U of A Hospital Hematology unit in Edmonton and the Foothills/Tom Baker Center’s BMT unit in Calgary for the care that Ron received during his treatment.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation or the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
