Obituary for
Roland Demers
It is with deep sorrow that he passed peacefully on November 24, 2021 at the HSN hospital, Sudbury surrounded with his three children. Roland was a loving husband to Colette Demers (Lemieux) and dedicated family man. Dear father of; Ginette Bélanger (Guy), Gilles Demers (Melina) and Miriam (Ethier) Demers (Eugene). Grandfather to; Patrick Gagnon (Sam), Alain Gagnon (Deanna), Mireille Ethier (Jean-Luc) and great-grandfather of; Théo and Benjamin. Fondly remembered by his siblings Madeleine (Denis), Henriette (late Wille) and Colombe (late Bobby). Predeceased by his parents Edouard Demers, Yvonne Roberge (Armand Roberge) and by his brothers Rhéal (late Therese) and Albert (Denise). Roland worked at Inco/Vale for many years. He loved this passed year living out of the city with Mimi and his new buddy Eugene. He enjoyed sitting in the gazebo and on the deck. He also much enjoyed horses, card games, playing hockey (go Papa Smurf go) and loved camping; he was an outdoorsman. The family would like to thank all the community health care providers, the paramedics, Lifelab, and all the nurses especially his family doctor and many of his heart specialists and all the quality care he received at St. Joseph Continuing Care. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment at the Civic Mausoleum.
