Robert «Bob» Herdman
With heavy hearts, the family of Robert “Bob” Earl Herdman announce his passing on April 13, 2021, at the age of 87 years. Bob was born August 20, 1933 in Canwood, SK. to Mabel and Charles Herdman.
Bob lived in the Wanakena district except for a brief time in B.C., it was there that he married Marlene Unrau. They moved back to the Wanakena area in the fall of 1960 where they remained until the summer of 2020. At that time, they moved into Debden, and in October Bob then moved to the Big River Health Centre until his passing.
His first daughter was born in New Westminster in October of 1959, followed by 3 more daughters while in their Wanakena home. Bob farmed most of his life, enjoying working the land while raising his family. He was known to be a kind humble, intelligent man, who looked for the best in everyone he met. Bob loved his family and especially the little ones who stole his heart.
He will be missed immensely by his family, with treasured memories held close to their hearts.
Bob is lovingly survived by his wife Marlene Herdman of Debden, SK; his children: Tracy (Jerome) Collins of Debden, SK and family: Jamie-Lynn and 1 child, Scott (Sherrie) Collins and 4 children, Arianne (Stewart) Wiebe and 2 children; Kim (Curt) O’Connell of Debden, SK and family: Stacey (Steven) Nordby and 3 children, Kyler (Alicia) O’Connell and 4 children, Katelin (Kris) Gjerde and 2 children, Shelbie O’Connell; Laurie (Doug) England of Prince George, BC, and family: Jason England (Donna Thomas) and 1 child, Amanda England (Darcy McNight) and 2 children, Stephanie (Cass) Craig and 2 children; Janine Collins of Big River, SK and family:
Pamela (Andy) Wozniak and 2 children, Tanya Collins and 2 children, Tessa Collins (Bismark Effah) and 2 children, Jordan (Ashley) Collins and 4 children; his brother: Bill Herdman (Linda Henderson) of Christopher Lake, SK; His siblings-in-law: Sydney Ward – formerly Ruth Ward (Sinclair), Esther Gear, Alfred (Rita) Unrau; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Bob is predeceased by his parents: Charles and Mabel Herdman; his sisters: Hilma Sinclair and Ann Herdman; his parents-in-law: John and Nettie Unrau; and his brothers-in-law: Garry Gear and Hubert Sinclair.
There will be a private service held for Bob on the family farm and interment will follow at a later date.
