It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing Rene Eugene LaPorte on June 16th, 2021 at 92 years of age. Beloved husband of Georgette (nee Charlebois) for 67 years. Loving father of Michelle Bortolon (Vic), Dan (Lyn), Richard, Rene (Brandy), Marc (Anna) and Jerome. Precious Grandfather of 12 grand children and 15 great grand children. Rene, born in Windsor in 1929 was a man of faith and service. Charter Grand Knight, Parishioner and choir singer at St. Vincent de Paul for 60 years. His hobbies included making rosaries and donating them. He was an Automobile enthusiast, Owner and Operator of East Side Auto Wrecking for 50 years. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd E., 519-253-7234 on Monday June 21, 2021 from 2:00PM – 4:00PM and 6:00PM – 8:00PM. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Atonement on Tuesday June 22, 2021 at 10:30AM. Internment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Reservations and Masks are required to attend the visitation and funeral mass. Please call Windsor Chapel between the hours of 8:30AM and 4:00PM to make a reservation.
