Raymond Hargreaves
Raymond Hargreaves, 89, of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, passed away on October 9th, 2021 after a long illness.
Ray was born in 1932, in Widnes, Lancashire, England and is survived by his wife of 69 years, Joyce; son, Wesley; daughter, Eloise Wanjoe; daughter-in-law, Denise; son-in-law, Robert Wanjoe, granddaughter, Amy and family Cole, Grace and Owen.
Ray immigrated with Joyce to Canada in the late 1950’s. He joined an immigration program to become a Canadian citizen by joining the Royal Canadian Air Force, where he trained and worked as a fighter jet mechanic. Ray was also a master carpenter, teacher, and entrepeneur. He spent the majority of his working life in Drumheller, Alberta.
Ray and Joyce loved to golf, and spent their winters RVing, and golfing with friends in 29 Palms, California.
Anyone who knew Ray knew that he was a loving husband and father, and he will be sorely missed by all.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to your local Humane Society.
There will be no service, and at a later date his family will gather for a Celebration of Ray’s life, and to scatter his ashes.
