Poirier, Carole Lenore
Carole Poirier, born February 26, 1942 in Mimico, the daughter of the late Charles M. Stewart and the late Martha Harper, passed away peacefully at Meaford Hospital with her daughter by her side on November 13, 2021 at the age of 79.
Carole worked many years in the Apple Industry working her way to Plant Manager of Golden Town Apple Products retiring after 15 years. She then joined Studio 16 working customer service.
Carole made instant connections with everyone she met, and you knew instantly when you met her, she was someone you wanted in your life.
Her quick wit and sense of humor was part of what made her such an incredible person. Anyone who knew her knows how much her family meant to her and what lengths she would go for them.
Carole will be missed by her husband Peter of 58 years, and was the amazing mother of Glenn Poirier (Linda Carnegie) of Barrie, Katherine Turmaine (Wayne Sanders) of Thornbury.
She was the much loved and adored Grams of Erica Tudisco (Mike) and Andrew Poirier of Guelph, Chelsea Turmaine of Meaford and Adam Turmaine of Clarksburg and of course her beloved fur baby Milo.
Carole was predeceased by her sister Marilyn Harper and brother-in-law Ron Smith.
She will be missed by her sister and brothers-in-law Gerald Poirier (Florida), Florence Goguen, Irene Cullen (William), Jeannie Champeon, Leonard Poirier (Claire), Maria Babineau (Louis), Norman Poirier (Rita), Julia Poirier (Leo) and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Family will receive friends for a public visitation at Ferguson Funeral Home in Meaford on Monday, November 22, 2021 from 4 until 7 p.m. A private family funeral service will be conducted at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Collingwood, with interment following at the Catholic Cemetery in Collingwood. We ask that masks be worn and that all Covid-19 rules and regulations are respected to keep everybody safe.
