It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Hardybela announce his sudden death from complications of Covid-19 on June 7, 2021.
Peter will be greatly missed by his only daughter, Dawn (Jim) Hunter; three grandsons: Kyle, Ryan and Jason; loving sister, Silvia Dobko; his companion and caregiver, Thérèse Tremblay.
Peter was predeceased by his loving wife of 31 years, Beverly Hardybela (Kuspira); his siblings: Mary, Helen, John, Fred, Stella, Paul, Veronica and Margaret; parents, Philip and Katherine (Lys).
Peter was born and raised near Yorkton Saskatchewan and moved to Edmonton in 1966. He worked a number of jobs, often simultaneously, to provide for his young family before a long career with the Workers Compensation Board. He retired from the WCB in 2005 and lived in his small immaculate original home in the Inglewood community.
Peter was very passionate about all of his interests and there were many, from fishing to his love of music and sports. His love of the guitar was a constant, he was self-taught and practiced regularly. Peter’s competitive spirit was prevalent and saw him compete through many years of badminton, squash and golf. He was meticulous when it came to taking care of his yard and garden and in just about anything he did.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peter’s name to The Edmonton Food Bank as they aid the many families that have been so suddenly affected by the damages of Covid-19.
There will be a private Celebration of Peter’s life at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 21, 2021. To join the service livestream service, please click here.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Peter Hardybela 2021..
