It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our oldest sister, Pauline ( Ne:Larade), Sabean on April 8, 2021 at the age of 84 in the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital with two of her sisters , Hattie of Inverness and Sylvia Larade of Halifax. Born in Cheticamp on September 17, 1936 to the late Amedee and Annie ( Aucoin)Larade.
She is survived by her three sisters, Hattie (Larade), of Inverness, Dora (Larade) of Inverness, Inverary Manor, Sylvia Larade, Halifax, nieces and nephews, Pauline (Donald), Rene (Paula), Amedee (Deborah), Angele (Omer), Maurice, Cheticamp, Marc (Lyne) , grandnieces, Brooke, Mackenzie grandniece, Cheticamp, Renita, Halifax, grandnephews, Marcus, Cheticamp, Glen, Daniel , Halifax, Dillon (Samantha), Fredericton, N.B.
Pauline, as sick as she was for most of her life with Crohn’s Disease, lived it to the fullest. She had a great sense of humor, was witty, loved music and dancing and a good joke. She was very “feisty” in character and knew how to speak her mind.
She was a nun for 18 years with the order of “Filles de Jesus”. She went to the Karana College in QC and became a top notch tailor. Upon returning to Halifax, she was employed by Tip Top Tailor for two years which led her to opening her own Tailor Shop in Porter Lake Mall . She was very busy and needed a helper so hired Donna Macdonald and they became best friends . She was very fond of Donna’s husband, Vince as well.
In 1985, she bought a house in Porter’s Lake. One night she went dancing in Halifax with some friends and met the love of her life, Irvin Amos Sabean, A retired Post employee for the Armed Forces who would become her husband on November 4, 2000. Unfortunately Pauline’s health declined over the years and they divorced and she moved to a Senior Apartment in Dartmouth. From here, she was in and out of the hospital and eventually her health worsened so she moved to Inverness and stayed with sister Hattie for 4 months where one day while on her daily walk, fell and broke her hip. She then was accepted at the Inverary Manor in Inverness where she spent the rest of her years (6 years) in Oceanview Villa. She loved it at ”the Manor” and was proud to call it home.
She will be sadly missed by her family and friends and extended family from Oceanview Villa.
Her family wants to extend their forever gratitude to all Staff of the Inverary Manor , especially Oceanview Villa which took such good care of her daily.
Also we, her family want to thank especially the two paramedics who picked her up on that sad day and transported her to the Emergency Department at the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Also we want to extend our gratitude to Kelly and Aurelie for your compassion and gentleness to us and our dear sister . Thank you. Also to Father Dan for promptly coming to the ER to administer the last rights, thank you Father Dan.
